OVERVIEW

The Semester Chinese Program is only offered in Chengde, a small city away from Beijing. The reason we chose Chengde particularly to host this long-term Chinese program is because of the low living costs in Chengde. Many of you want to live in China for long term, so we want to bring the costs down as much as possible. You will fall in love with this hidden gem once you study Chinese in Chengde. The people here are genuine and speak standard Mandarin with no accent at all. The life here is very easy and convenient. You can take a high-speed train to Beijing and arrive in Beijing within 1 hour. The trains are operated so frequently that you can the next train to Beijing in 20 minutes.

Our dynamic teaching methods keep students engaged and motivated throughout the Chinese language course, so you can develop the skills necessary to communicate with confidence.

Don’t worry, the course is not all work and no play! We also create opportunities for students to practice their Chinese skills with fun and interactive group activities, cultural events, and even field trips. By the end of the course, you’ll not only have achieved fluency in Mandarin Chinese, but you’ll also have developed a deeper appreciation for the rich culture and history behind the language.

#1 Learn Chinese in Chengde (Homestay)

Are you looking for a homestay in China? Check out Chengde, 1 hour from Beijing, by high-speed train! When you take the Intensive One-on-one Chinese Course and HSK Test Preparation Course with Keats in Chengde, you will live with a Chinese family. Interacting with your host family is an excellent way to improve your speaking and listening skills, as well as your cultural understanding. Chengde is a small city with a low living cost, so it is perfect for students who would like to study Chinese in China on a budget. Budget-friendly programs in Chengde are the Semester Chinese Program and Chinese Language Course + Volunteer in China. Chengde is also the birth place where Mandarin Chinese originated, so you will hear the most standard Mandarin everywhere in Chengde without any accent.

You can join this course every Monday during the year. The starting is very flexible according to your schedule.

Yes, we will send you the necessary documents to apply for a Chinese visa.

What does the tuition fee include?

  • 2 hours of group Chinese classes Monday to Friday, 10 hours per week

How long does this program last?

This program lasts for 1 semester (16 weeks). If you sign up for 2 semesters, the Chinese classes will 32 weeks in total.

If I cannot study for 16 weeks, can I get a refund?

The semester program has a fixed amount of 16 weeks. If you cannot study for 16 weeks, the tuition fee cannot be refunded once the visa is issued.

After you arrive, your dedicated advisor will help you with the following:
